The Wedding of Psyche

Jesi Bender

Mise en abyme:
The whispers of jealous sisters
Warm like the western wind
She held coins beneath her tongue
A hollow, grey place between

Was I asleep or drunk on ambrosia
When she stepped onto the ledge
& jumped into that gaping, eternal Rite?

She fell & the falling felt like forever.
