Park

Hilary Sideris

In my cloak
of incredulity I walk

down by the lake.
A red soul patch talks

with a toddler: Daddy will
fix it, but not right now.

A tattoed neck to her
runner bud: They were

rude! You call that
frank?
A fighter trains

against an oak, kicking
its fissured bark.

Hilary Sideris is the author of Most Likely To Die (Poets Wear Prada 2014), poems in the voice of Keith Richards, and The Inclination To Make Waves, a book of four-letter-word poems (Big Wonderful 2016). She lives in Brooklyn and works for The City University of New York.
