Cotton Morning

Dawn Alicia Pink

Crisp astringent hotel sheets crackle
Peak like whipped cream over
Stone baked bread
Tracing a black tapestry around
Red brick circles

A fish hook catches the strap
Yanks back and down
Into the bath water

Sunshine forced past the lips
Drawn in across the tongue
Stinging like lemon oil
