Come Eleven

Non-this
Now
cause proffers
other than
mere offerings
green
or as sheen

Or
petty shouts
then rustles
athwart opaque
doing a solid
thing than
moist rustling

Or
subtle water crypts
an' disappears
----------------
sinks
seething
you understand as
this is mute vapor
torpor
amazing!
finding shining

Roger Williams lives about an hour north of San Francisco. He taught French at San Francisco State University until retirement in 1987. He studied poetry with Roethke and Bogan, setting poems to music-Wilde, Patchen, Creely, Merwin and others.
